PARQS™ Compass Terms of Use

PARQS™ Compass is owned by Elaina Kelly Smith, LLC.
These Terms of Use explain the terms that apply when you download, access, purchase, or use PARQS™ Compass.
By using PARQS™ Compass, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
About PARQS™ Compass
PARQS™ Compass is a guided reflection and journaling app designed to support personal reflection, intentional choice, and everyday self-support.
PARQS™ Compass is not medical or mental health treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
Free Access and Paid Access
PARQS™ Compass includes limited free use so you can experience the app before deciding whether to purchase paid access.
Current free access includes up to 3 journal entries and 2 grounding practices. This free access is not based on a time-limited trial period.
After the free-use allowance has been reached, paid access may be required to continue using paid PARQS practices or creating additional entries. Journal entries you have already created remain available through Journal History.
Available paid options may include an annual auto-renewing membership and a one-time lifetime-access purchase. The price and terms shown in the applicable app store at the time of purchase are the terms that apply to that transaction.
Annual Membership
The annual PARQS Compass Pro membership is an auto-renewing subscription.
Your app-store account will be charged according to the price displayed before you confirm your purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it through your Apple App Store or Google Play account before the applicable renewal date.
If you cancel, your paid access generally continues through the remainder of the period you have already paid for. Cancellation, billing, and refund processing are handled by the applicable app store under its policies.
Lifetime Access
Lifetime Access is a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew.
A qualifying Lifetime Access purchase unlocks the paid PARQS access associated with that purchase without recurring subscription charges, subject to these Terms and the continued availability and support of PARQS™ Compass.
Purchases and Payment
In-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing on Android or Apple’s in-app purchase system on iOS, where available.
PARQS™ Compass does not receive or store your payment-card information. The applicable app store processes your payment and maintains the transaction record.
RevenueCat is used to verify purchases, manage paid access, and determine whether a qualifying PARQS Compass Pro entitlement is active.
Restore Purchases
The Restore Purchases feature can be used to restore qualifying paid access associated with the applicable app-store account.
For example, if you reinstall PARQS™ Compass or move to a new device, you may need to sign in with the same Google Play or Apple account used for the original purchase and then use Restore Purchases.
Restore Purchases restores qualifying paid access. It does not restore your journal entries.
Your Journal Entries
Your PARQS Journal and Of Course Journal entries are stored locally on your device. No PARQS account is required to use these journaling features.
PARQS™ Compass does not operate a server that stores copies of your private journal entries.
Because your journal content is stored locally, deleting the app, resetting or losing your device, or otherwise removing its local storage may remove your journal history unless you have saved a usable backup.
Journal Backups and Restore
PARQS™ Compass allows you to save a journal backup to a location you choose.
You are responsible for keeping backup files somewhere you trust and can access later.
The journal Restore feature is intended to help recover journal entries on a new or reset phone. Restore is available when the journals in the app are empty.
If a backup cannot be restored, keep the backup file and contact PARQS support for assistance. Do not edit the backup file unless you are specifically instructed to do so.
Because PARQS™ Compass does not keep a server copy of your journal writing, we cannot recover journal content that is lost from your device if no usable backup exists.
Printing Your Journal
PARQS™ Compass may allow you to preview and print pages from your journal using printing or sharing services available on your device.
Once journal content is sent to a printer, storage provider, or another service you choose, that service may handle the information under its own terms and privacy policy.
License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, Elaina Kelly Smith, LLC grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PARQS™ Compass for your own personal use.
You may not sell, redistribute, sublicense, copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit PARQS™ Compass or its proprietary content except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Intellectual Property
PARQS™, the PARQS framework, app content, written material, visual elements, and related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to Elaina Kelly Smith, LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
PARQS™ is a trademark of Elaina Kelly Smith, LLC.
Personal Reflection and Wellness Note
PARQS™ Compass is intended for personal reflection and everyday self-support.
The app is not a substitute for medical care, mental health treatment, diagnosis, therapy, or professional advice.
If a practice does not feel right for you, you may skip or adapt it.
External Links and Resources
PARQS™ Compass may include links to books, companion guides, the PARQS First Steps Kit, support resources, or other pages on the Elaina Kelly Smith website.
When you leave the app and visit an external website or service, that website or service operates under its own terms and privacy practices.
App Availability and Changes
We may update, improve, modify, or discontinue features of PARQS™ Compass from time to time.
We may also release updates that are necessary for compatibility, security, store requirements, or continued operation of the app.
We cannot guarantee that PARQS™ Compass will operate indefinitely on every device, operating-system version, or third-party service.
Disclaimer
PARQS™ Compass is provided for personal reflection and educational use.
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided on an “as available” basis without guarantees that every feature, device, backup file, external service, or network connection will operate without interruption or error.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Elaina Kelly Smith, LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of PARQS™ Compass, including loss of locally stored journal content resulting from device loss, deletion, storage failure, or the absence of a usable backup.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited under applicable consumer-protection law.
Children
PARQS™ Compass is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
App Store Terms
Your use of PARQS™ Compass may also be subject to the terms and conditions of the app store through which you downloaded or purchased the app.
For purchases made through Apple, Apple’s applicable terms and Standard End User License Agreement may also apply. For purchases made through Google Play, applicable Google Play terms and policies also apply.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time.
If these Terms change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
